Hello! I am a freelance editor, author, and creative director. I specialize in children’s books, cookbooks, humorous nonfiction titles, and more. I have had the pleasure of editing everything from obscure astrophysics journals and intricate hand-drawn maps to New York Times best sellers like Seth Graham-Smith's Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. During my seven years at Quirk Books, I acquired and developed dozens of books like Yum-Yum Bento Box, Marshmallow Madness, Crafting with Cat Hair, and Find Momo (another best seller, at #11 on the specialty best sellers list!). I know my way around a test kitchen and have directed numerous photo shoots for food and drinks books and craft titles. I have been featured in publications such as Women’s World (as a Halloween craft expert), Publisher’s Weekly (as an expert on craft book platform and production values and also on cookbook trends), and Nerve (as, well, an expert on douchebags. But that’s another story).
My latest children’s books include The Yuckiest Alphabet Book in the World, Kid Classics: Frankenstein, and Kid Classics: Dracula.
I live near the Blue Ridge Mountains with my partner and two kids. I listen to a lot of Dolly Parton and WFMU and like to hike Shenandoah, garden, and bake fancy cakes.
